- What is Waar Is Airco?
- Waar Is Airco is a free website that helps you quickly find public places with air conditioning near you — cafés, restaurants, libraries, museums, hotel lobbies and more. Handy during a heatwave or a hot day.
- How do I find an air-conditioned place near me?
- Open the map, allow your location or search by city, neighbourhood or place. You instantly see cool spots around you, with the current temperature and whether the AC is confirmed.
- Is Waar Is Airco free?
- Yes. For visitors Waar Is Airco is completely free and always will be. Businesses can optionally take a paid plan for more visibility.
- Which places in Amsterdam have air conditioning?
- In Amsterdam you’ll often find AC in museums (such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum), libraries (such as the OBA), larger hotel lobbies, shopping centres and many modern cafés and restaurants. On the Waar Is Airco map each place shows whether its AC is confirmed, likely or still unknown.
- How do I know a place really has AC?
- Every place has a status: “Verified” (confirmed by the owner or by us), “Likely” (based on the type of place) or “Unknown”. Visitors can also vote on whether a place has AC, so the information keeps improving.
- Which cities does Waar Is Airco cover?
- We launched in Amsterdam with thousands of locations. Other Dutch cities are coming — let us know if your city is missing.
- I run a business with AC — how do I get listed?
- Search for your venue and choose “Claim this location”. After signing in you can manage your details, photos and AC status. With a matching email domain or a KvK check you get the “Verified business” badge.
- Where does the data come from?
- The base data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Weather data comes from OpenWeather and map tiles from OpenFreeMap. Owners and visitors enrich the AC information further.
